Traffic to your website is only half the job. Plenty of trade sites get visitors and still get almost no calls, because the site makes the customer work too hard. Here are the changes that turn visits into quote requests, in rough order of impact.
1. Make contacting you a single tap
Most people find a trade on their phone. Put a big tap-to-call button and a short “request a quote” form on every page, not just a hidden contact page. WhatsApp helps too. If a customer has to search for your number, you have already lost some of them.
2. Show real proof, fast
Photos of your finished work and your Google reviews do more to win a nervous customer than any amount of copy. Put a few of your best photos and a couple of reviews high on the page, where they’re seen before the customer scrolls.
3. Answer “are they legit?” before they ask
Your registrations and insurance, NICEIC, Gas Safe, FMB, TrustMark, public liability, shown up front. For anything electrical, gas or structural, this is the first thing a customer wants to know, so don’t bury it.
4. Name the areas you cover

5. Be quick, on a phone
A slow site loses the customer before it loads. Trade sites need to be lean and fast, and mobile-first, because that’s where the searches happen.
6. Have a page for each job you want
Separate, clear pages for the work you want more of, boiler installs, rewires, extensions, help you rank for those searches and steer customers toward the higher-value jobs, not just the small callouts.
