£14.40 to £94.80 a month for Squarespace in the UK when you pay for a year, or £19.20 to £106.80 a month if you pay monthly. Those are the prices on Squarespace’s own UK pricing page on 22 October 2026, and they now include VAT. Many UK guides still quote £12 to £79, which are the same plans without VAT. If your business is not VAT registered, the VAT-inclusive figure is what you actually pay.

How much does Squarespace cost per month in the UK?
Four plans. Squarespace labels each price “Includes estimated VAT”:
| Plan | Paid annually, per month | Paid monthly | Online store transaction fee | Card rate from |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | £14.40 | £19.20 | 2% | 2.0% + 25p |
| Core | £20.40 | £28.80 | 0% | 2.0% + 25p |
| Plus | £34.80 | £43.20 | 0% | 1.7% + 25p |
| Advanced | £94.80 | £106.80 | 0% | 1.5% + 25p |
Squarespace says paying annually saves up to 36%. There is a 14-day free trial, and the page says no card is needed to start it.
Why do some sites say Squarespace costs £12 a month?
Because £12 is the Basic plan before VAT, and Squarespace’s UK page now shows prices with VAT included: £12 plus 20% is £14.40. The plans have not gone up; the way they are displayed has changed. The same applies across the range, so £17 is now shown as £20.40, £29 as £34.80 and £79 as £94.80. If you are VAT registered you can reclaim that VAT; if you are not, it is part of the price. We explain how that works in can you reclaim VAT on a website.
How much does a Squarespace website cost per year?
£172.80 a year on Basic paid annually, £244.80 on Core, £417.60 on Plus and £1,137.60 on Advanced, all including VAT. Paying month by month, a year of Basic is £230.40.
Which Squarespace plan do I need to sell online?
Basic can sell, but takes a 2% transaction fee on online store sales on top of card processing. From Core upwards the store transaction fee is 0%. The break-even is simple: Core costs £6 a month more than Basic paid annually, so once you sell more than £300 a month through the store, the 2% fee on Basic costs more than the upgrade.
Does Squarespace charge transaction fees?
Two kinds. Card processing, from 2.0% + 25p on Basic and Core down to 1.5% + 25p on Advanced. And on Basic only, a 2% transaction fee on online store sales. Digital content and memberships carry their own fees: 7% on Basic, 5% on Core, 1% on Plus and 0% on Advanced, according to the same page.
Does Squarespace include a domain and hosting?
Hosting is included in every plan. A free custom domain is listed on every plan, but with an asterisk, which means conditions apply: read Squarespace’s terms on how long it is free and what it renews at. Professional email from Google Workspace is listed on Core and above, also with an asterisk, so check what it costs before relying on it.
How much does a Squarespace website cost over three years?
On Core paid annually, £734.40 including VAT, which is the plan most small businesses that want to take payments end up on. On Basic, £518.40. That is before any domain renewal, email, or paid extensions.
Is Squarespace worth it for a small business?
For a design-led business that wants a good-looking site it can run itself, often yes: Squarespace’s templates are among the best of the builders. The limits are the usual ones for a builder: you are working inside its templates, you cannot take the site with you if you leave, and a template does not give you the page structure and local search setup that brings in enquiries. It is a strong choice for a portfolio, a small shop or a business that gets its work through referrals.
Can I move my Squarespace site somewhere else?
Not as a working site. You can export some content, and you can transfer your domain, but the design has to be rebuilt on whatever platform you move to. Factor that in if you expect to outgrow it.
How does Squarespace compare with having a site built?
On money alone Squarespace is usually cheaper over three years. Our Starter site is £495, with no VAT added, plus roughly £195 a year for a domain and hosting, which comes to about £1,080 over three years against £734.40 for Squarespace Core. The difference pays for a site designed around your business, built to be found in search, and owned outright. Run your own numbers in our website cost calculator.
