How Much Does a Wix Website Cost in the UK? (2026, With VAT)

£9 to £119 a month on a yearly plan, before VAT. The realistic small business plan, Core, is £19.20 a month once VAT is added, because Wix's prices exclude tax.

£9 to £119 a month for Wix in the UK on a yearly plan, before VAT, which makes the realistic small business plan £19.20 a month once 20% VAT is added. Wix’s own pricing page states that its “prices do not include applicable taxes”, and that the figures shown are for yearly subscriptions paid in full up front. When we checked it on 21 October 2026 it was also running a 50% first-term discount.

One thing worth knowing before you compare: Wix does not always show UK visitors the same currency. On 21 October 2026 its pricing page showed us sterling. On 22 October the same page, from the same place, showed US dollars “for reference only”. The sterling prices below match what we recorded on 5 October, so they are stable; the currency display is what varies.

How much does Wix cost per month in the UK?

Four paid plans, billed yearly, before VAT:

Plan Per month, before VAT With 20% VAT A year, with VAT What it is for
Light £9 £10.80 £129.60 A basic site; not for taking payments
Core £16 £19.20 £230.40 Adds payments, basic ecommerce and scheduling
Business £25 £30 £360 Fuller ecommerce, more storage and collaborators
Business Elite £119 £142.80 £1,713.60 Larger operations

Wix also lists a free plan. Check what it leaves out, such as your own domain name, before relying on it for a business.

Does Wix include VAT in its prices?

No. Wix’s page says prices “do not include applicable taxes, which are determined according to your billing address” and that “the final price can be seen on the purchase page, before payment is completed.” For a UK customer that means 20% VAT on top. A VAT-registered business can reclaim it; one that is not registered pays it. See can you reclaim VAT on a website.

What is the Wix 50% discount?

On 21 October 2026 Wix showed each plan at half price for the first term: Core at £8 a month instead of £16, for example, and Business Elite at £59.50 instead of £119. A first-term discount applies to the first subscription period only. Plan your budget on the full price, because that is what renews.

Which Wix plan do I need to take payments?

Core or above. The Light plan does not list accepting payments or ecommerce. If you want bookings, payments or a small shop, Core is the realistic starting point, which is £19.20 a month including VAT, or £230.40 a year.

How much does a Wix website cost over three years?

£691.20 on Core including VAT at the full price, or less if the first-term discount applies. On Light, £388.80. That is before any paid apps from the Wix App Market, a premium domain, or business email.

Is Wix good for a small business?

For a business that wants to build and run its own site quickly, yes, and it is one of the most capable builders. The limits are the builder limits: you are inside Wix’s system, you cannot export the site as a working website if you leave, and the search setup is only as good as what you put in. For a business that gets most of its work from referrals, Wix is often enough.

Can I move my Wix website to another host?

Not as a working site. Wix sites cannot be exported and run elsewhere. You can transfer your domain and copy your content, but the design has to be rebuilt. This is the most common reason businesses who start on Wix end up paying twice.

How does Wix compare with having a site built?

Wix Core over three years costs about £691 including VAT. Our Starter site is £495, with no VAT added, plus roughly £195 a year for a domain and hosting, so about £1,080 over three years. Wix is cheaper on money. What the difference buys is a site built around your business and set up to be found, which you own outright and can move whenever you like. Our website cost calculator runs the comparison for your job.

Sterling prices recorded from Wix’s own page on 5 and 21 October 2026, before VAT as Wix displays them. Wix varies the currency it shows by location, and its prices can change; check the purchase page before you pay.
